Rose Island is founded towards the end of the XX century. It acquires the trade mark YDRA (Yacht Design & Research Atelier), setting its designers the goal of designing a Lobsteryacht as faithful as possible to the legendary lines of Maine’s Lobsterboats; Rose Island then registers the “Lobster” trade mark as a guarantee of the original project. No sooner than their first appearance, Lobsters 38 and 49 become reference points to the long expectant connoisseurs. Thanks to the devotion of these people, today Rose Island can conceive the first 60 feet Lobsteryacht.

Rose Island’s lobsteryachts have conquered their place amongst the top of leisure yachts. Soon the new 65 will offer the most demanding shipowners the possibility of possessing a boat tailored-made to themselves. Rose Island’s Lobsteryachts are exclusive in their Old England style, unique for their elegance, speed and sea-keeping performances.

A Rose Island Lobsteryacht welcomes you with gentleness and makes you feel at home. Its comfort lays in the wide living space both in the cockpit and the saloon and to the careful layout of the lowerdeck, where there are comfortable cabins, large bathrooms and spacious wardrobes. Functional and complete, the kitchen also does not interfere with the dashboard neither with the onboard life.
Practical, easy and comfortable Rose Island’s Lobsteryachts are apt for a long cruise as well as a day out with friends.

Rose Island’s lobsters production encompasses Lobsters 38, 49 and 65. The series has been recently enriched with the new exclusive ‘Pathfinder 58’, based on the aluminium concept boat ‘Pathfinder 55’. The fibreglass Pathfinder 58 is a new boat inspired by ocean vessels, but boasting characteristics propelling it to speeds exceeding 20 knots.

What a Lobster is?

New England’s coasts are amongst the wildest and most fascinating in the world. In those frontier lands, civilisation is still subordinate to nature. Places of solely marine culture, Maine’s harbours gave birth to legendary hulls, boats born out of the need and experience of those who live and work at sea.
Lobsters, better known as Lobsterboats, probably stand for the most representative expression of this culture. These are boats designed to fish lobsters, a typical activity of this region.
Lobsters have been perfected over time under the loving scrutiny of their working crews living day in and day out on these vessels. A hard working life compels these daring men to spend endless hours in the wild and freezing waters of the Atlantic Ocean. This is the reason why their boats meet highest standards of reliability: Not only do the boats provide a platform to do their job but the men also rely on them with their lives in the most arduous situations.

Lobsteryachts

The reputation of these exceptional boats soon enough reached the world of leisure yachting. Many sailors/owners, people who navigate for leisure, love the sea, know its rules and therefore appreciate the marine hulls, have ordered versions also suitable for leisure. Boats which, though having been designed for the tough requirements of the Atlantic- main motivation of choice for these hulls – also offer luxury, living space, comfort and style.
Theses types of vessels are known to the world as Lobsteryachts. To prefer or like a Lobsteryacht is to know what it is to live the sea and to recognize the tough requirements which lead to each of our designs. To own a Lobsteryacht is to be proud and utterly enthusiastic for possessing one.
